A N N O U N C E M E N T S

Night in Bethlehem is December 6! If you can help with set up on Saturday morning, December 5, or any night the previous week, please contact Kelly, Amie or Channa

Volunteers are needed to bring soups, breads or drinks on December 6 for the Night in Bethlehem celebration. Please contact Christy Chilado as soon as possible if you can help.

“A Night in Bethlehem” - Caesar has decreed that there be a census throughout the land. By this decree, report to Bethlehem to register your family for the census, Sunday, Dec 6, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Although shopkeepers, craftsmen and food merchants are planning for the crowds, there may be a shortage of rooms at the local inns. Questions? See Kelly, Amie or Channa

Brian Tebben, his wife, and their children will be joining us on January 8, 9 and 10. Brian will be preaching on January 10. The Search Committee will be giving out more information about the schedule in the weeks to come.

Classis Yellowstone will be meeting in Special Session, Thursday, December 3, at Manhattan CRC, Churchill, MT. Once Classis has been constituted, it will move into Executive Session where only those delegated by their respective Councils may be present. Please pray the delegates have safe travel to and from the session, and they are granted wisdom during the meeting.

The annual congregational meeting will be held on Monday, December 7 at 7 p.m. At the meeting we will be voting for 2 elders and 2 deacons. Those running for elders are Ben De Vries, Mike Vyfvinkel and Kevin Zandberg. Those running for deacons are Richard Mulder and Jose Chilado.

On Sunday, December 13 at 10 a.m., the choir will present “The Christmas Promise”, a musical Christmas program written and arranged by Lloyd Larson. We will have instrumental accompaniment and some of the Sunday School children will participate. Please invite your friends and relatives to this special event.

Readers and Candle Lighters are still need for our Advent and Christmas Day services. Please contact Bonnie Newton if you are available and would like to participate.

ADVENT: Did you notice the banners at the front of our worship space are purple this morning? A seasonal change of colors is a way of inviting us to celebrate our Lord’s birth, life, death, and resurrection throughout the year. Each year becomes a reminder that we live in “the year of the Lord’s grace” (Isaiah 61:2 & Luke 4:19). Advent means “coming” and is the season when we wait and watch for the coming of God in Christ. Christ came at the first Christmas; he comes into our lives today; and he will come again in the future. Purple reflects this mood of waiting.

Mark your calendars now for the annual Progressive Dinner to be held on Saturday, December 12th. As in years past we will meet at various church member's houses for hors d'oeuvres, main course and dessert. We need volunteers to host and help with each step. A sign-up sheet will be downstairs on the Fellowship table. This is a great chance to get to know people better and has always been a popular event. Please plan to come.
