2. A Main Floor Remodeling Project
The second item is an opportunity to undertake some significant remodeling tasks in preparation for our 50th anniversary celebration. We would like to have more than just an architect’s picture of our facilities by October. At present we understand priority tasks to be remodeling the sanctuary and narthex, including making the narthex more functional fellowship space, updating the audio visual system, and improving the stage area to better accommodate the choir, the children’s message, and other activities.
We’re thinking about how our facilities could enhance our ministry and our worship, and we’re getting excited not only about the master planning process but also about remodeling possibilities. Please keep this process and your questions in your prayers, asking for grace and the Lord’s leading.

Please contact ministry facility planning committee members—Kevin Zandberg, John Jonkman, Tom McClenahan, and Christie Oostema.

Proposed Church Campus Renovation Projects

In celebration of our 50th anniversary celebration on October 29-30, 2005, and in an effort to provide improved facilities that will support our ministry here at church, we    have some exciting events coming up:

Several years ago, our congregation developed a vision for the church of relational ministry, focusing on relationship with God, relationship with each other, and relationship with our larger community. In recent years we developed a picture of what that vision looks like—you may remember the services exploring the idea of a community of light and life.
Now we look forward to how our church campus can better reflect our vision and serve our ministry. In response to input from the congregation over the past few years, we are now ready to begin work with an architect to develop two specific items:

1. A Master Plan of Our Church Campus
The first is a master plan for our church campus, incorporating the input received from the congregation. A design workshop to develop this plan was held on Saturday, March 5, 2005.  The product of this process was a site plan—a colored picture illustrating what our church property could look like, showing how it could better meet our ministry needs.
